Mt. Sinai Missionary Baptist Church
HISTORY

Mt. Sinai Missionary Baptist Church was organized March 17, 1947, in Orlando, FL. through the leadership of the late Samuel D. and Leola Jenkins with the guidance of the Holy Spirit. Mr. L.C. Cox had donated the lot to establish a community church.
In March 1991, The Sinai family purchased 4.002 acres of vacant land located at Nome Drive and W. South Street to construct a new church facility. In February 1993, the new facility was completed and expanded in 1997 to a seating capacity of 800. The Development Center which was built in 1997 and expanded in 2004 consists of a child development center, a computer lab, 15 classrooms, a regulation size gymnasium, and a full kitchen.
Mt. Sinai has been blessed to have only four pastors in its 74 years. The late Rev. Samuel D. Jenkins served as pastor from 1947 to 1954. He was succeeded by the late Rev Roscoe Wade, who served from 1954 to 1988. Dr. Larry G. Mills became the pastor in 1988 and served until his retirement in 2020. January 1, 2021 Dr. Lantz G. Mills became the new pastor of Mt. Sinai.
